Frankie Manning, one of the founding figures of Lindy Hop, spent his life saying the same thing in different ways: that this dance is joy, plain and simple.

Vintage Vibe Events believes in that same energy. It's about connection, a shared love of jazz, and moving to the music together. On the dance floor, there's no room for the things that divide us: where you're from, what you believe. You connect with your partner, you feel the music, you laugh when it goes wrong. For a few hours, everyone's speaking the same language.

Meet your host
Isabelle has been dancing and teaching for over 30 years. She founded Ottawa Vintage Swing, a school that's still running today, and is the director of Vintage Vibe Events, the event planning company she leads, where the community keeps traditional swing dances alive: Lindy Hop, Balboa, and everything in between. She's trained across Canada, the US, Italy, and Sweden.
Her family's roots trace back to southern Italy, and she splits her time between Ottawa and Calabria. This is her invitation to share it: the dancing, the food, the traditions, and the culture, with people curious enough to look past the version of Italy everyone already knows.

Isabelle danse et enseigne depuis plus de 30 ans. Elle a fondé Ottawa Vintage Swing, une école toujours active aujourd'hui, et dirige Vintage Vibe Events, l'entreprise d'organisation d'événements où la communauté garde vivantes les danses swing traditionnelles : Lindy Hop, Balboa, et tout ce qui s'y rattache. Elle s'est formée au Canada, aux États-Unis, en Italie et en Suède.
Ses racines familiales remontent au sud de l'Italie, et elle partage son temps entre Ottawa et la Calabre. Cette retraite est son invitation à la partager : la danse, la cuisine, les traditions et la culture, avec des gens assez curieux pour regarder au-delà de l'Italie que tout le monde connaît déjà.
La tua ospite
Isabelle balla e insegna da oltre 30 anni. Ha fondato Ottawa Vintage Swing, una scuola ancora attiva oggi, ed è direttrice di Vintage Vibe Events, l'azienda di organizzazione eventi che guida, dove la comunità mantiene vive le danze swing tradizionali: Lindy Hop, Balboa e tutto il resto. Si è formata in Canada, negli Stati Uniti, in Italia e in Svezia.
Le sue radici familiari affondano nel sud Italia, e divide il suo tempo tra Ottawa e la Calabria. Questo ritiro è il suo invito a condividerla: il ballo, il cibo, le tradizioni e la cultura, con chi ha la curiosità di guardare oltre l'Italia che tutti già conoscono.
